It’s Sunday the 13th August 2023, in the evenings show we go over a fairly drab encounter on the South coast as the Seasiders and the Grecians cancel each other out in a game of few chances, apart from Matty Virtue’s golden one to win it at the death! We’ll also briefly cover the midweek EFL Cup win over Derby and look ahead to Tuesday night against Port Vale at Bloomfield Road.

- Marv – accept the mistakes alongside the quality or… ?
- Inverted full backs – discuss it – it has some logic in terms of both defence and attack, but it means the crossing is gash.
- Disappointing display or good battling point? Did we not turn up or did both teams do a number on each other?
- Do we lack an alternative when plan A isn’t creating? Should we just get better at plan A or recruit an alternative? (width or presence up front)
- We conceded only 1 shot on target – but had only 3 ourselves… Did we really expect anything different from Critchley? Game typical of so many performances in Lg1 and to a degree Champ under him…
- If Virtue scores, it’s a classic Critch masterclass (soak up and break type) – Matty V had 50% of our shots in game (2!)
- Great turn out, over 700 making the trip
